A Modern Grey That Anchors a Contemporary Scheme

Grey has become the go-to neutral for modern interiors, warmer than stark white and softer than black, and it works just as well on a fire door as anywhere else. A grey fire door brings that contemporary tone to a protected opening, with the fire performance built into the core rather than the finish.

It is one of the material choices within our wider internal fire doors range, alongside white and natural oak finishes.

A smooth, contemporary finish

Grey fire doors come in smooth factory finishes and primed options you can paint, in tones from pale dove greys to deeper slate. The colour sits over a solid fire-rated core, so you get the modern look on the face with the tested performance underneath.

Flush and panelled

Grey suits clean, simple designs best. Plain flush fire doors make the most of the modern tone, while panel options add a little detail where you want it.

Rating and fitting

Most grey fire doors are fitted at a 30-minute rating, our FD30 fire doors. Like any fire door they only perform as a complete doorset, with a fire-rated frame or lining, intumescent seals and fire-rated hinges. Building control or a fire risk assessment will confirm the rating your opening needs.

Primed grey doors are made to be painted. Use a suitable paint, keep the coats sensible and keep paint off the intumescent seals so the rating still holds.

Most give 30 minutes of protection. Building control or a fire risk assessment will confirm the rating your opening needs.

Mostly clean, modern designs: plain flush doors and simple panelled faces, with some glazed options to bring light into a hallway.
