External Wood Treatments for Timber Doors

An external timber door only keeps its looks if it's protected from the weather — and the right treatment is what makes the difference. Our external wood treatments bring together the door oils and finishes built for outdoor use, guarding exterior timber against rain, UV, moisture and the mould and fungal growth that damp can bring, so your door resists fading, swelling and cracking for years.

Every finish here is made for outside. Our Osmo UV Protection Oil gives a micro-porous finish that lets timber breathe while repelling water and blocking UV, and our Impranol oil adds a durable, water-repellent coating that won't crack, blister or peel. Between them you can seal a new door before it's hung or refresh one that's started to weather.

For the best results, treat every face and edge — including the top and bottom — before the door is hung, then re-coat once a year or whenever the finish starts to look dry, especially on a south or south-west facing entrance. A porch or canopy helps any finish last longer.
