Treating your doors will significantly change their overall look so its vitally important that you perform a test to make sure you are using the correct shade before moving on to treat the whole door. Our Treatex oil sample in light oak gives you the chance to see whether you are happy with the appearance before purchasing a full tin.

This quick drying treatment has a fantastic reputation and will completely revamp their appearance too. New doors are a great way to update your home, finishing them in this Treatex oil will ensure that they remain tinted for many years to come. Remember to apply a hardwax oil to protect them!
Suitable for all types of internal joinery such as flooring, worktops, stairs, doors and furniture (We have this on our own worktop and cannot recommend it enough)

Application
Apply with a brush or lint free rag
Ready to use - you don't need to thin it, simply stir it well.
Apply the first coat thinly, thoroughly and evenly along the wood grain, removing any surplus immediately. Allow this coat to dry for at least 8-10 hours ensuring good ventilation. After applying the first coat if you do not achieve the desired finish you're after, we recommend applying a second coat ensuring the first coat is completely dry.
Next, apply two coats of Treatex Clear Matt using the same method as you used before. Again allow 8-10 hours for drying and ventilate between each layer.
When the door is thoroughly dry, you may buff or polish by hand or with a machine to enhance the sheen.
Usage
1 litre is enough to cover 3 doors with 2 layers. Have a look at our coverage calculator below to see how much you need!

Unit price perAfter a significant amount of time testing different Oils, waxes and Hardwax oils we are pleased to recommend Treatex Hardwax Oil as our preferred method of finishing for our INTERNAL Oak Doors, the reason for this is simple, the finish is the best by far. As the Treatex range has a higher wax content than most on the market the wax will fill up the grain on the door providing a very smooth finish and at the same time helping to slow moisture transfer between wood and the atmosphere.
Treatex Hardwax Oil preserved and enhances the appearance of all types of internal joinery, manufactured on a base of natural and sustainable raw materials including: linseed oil, sunflower oil, beeswax, carnauba wax and candelilla wax.
Being a mix of Oil and Wax, the oil will soak into the wood enhancing the grain, the wax will sit on the surface and fill the grain, ensuring a smooth finish.

When fitting new internal doors, it's extremely important to treat them and protect them from potential damage. Treatex hardwax oils are extremely effective at protecting internal doors from liquids such as wine, beer, coffee and various others. Treatex hardwax oils will also prevent your doors from absorbing atmospheric moisture.
Our treatex hardwax oils are very easy to apply and also extremely fast drying. Two coats can be added to a door in just 3-6 hours depending on the treating conditions. They are also suitable for those with dust allergies and are virtually odourless.
Treatex Hardwax oils will complement the finish of your doors and highlight their smooth wood grains. With a higher wax content than most other treatments, Treatex hardwax oils will provide a deep and lasting finish.
