Deep, Rich Walnut for a Warmer Room
Walnut brings a darker, warmer tone than oak, with a close grain that reads as calm and sophisticated in a study, a bedroom or a hallway. A walnut fire door carries that rich look onto a protected opening, pairing a real walnut face with a solid, tested fire-resisting core.
It is one of the real-wood veneer finishes within our wider internal fire doors range, alongside natural oak.
Real walnut over a fire-tested core
Like oak, these are veneered doors rather than solid planks: a layer of real walnut is bonded over an engineered core that carries the strength and the fire rating. That keeps the face flat and stable while showing genuine walnut grain, so you get the depth of the timber with the tested performance built in.
Styles, rating and fitting
Walnut suits clean designs best, mostly flush and simple panelled faces that let the grain do the talking. Most are fitted at a 30-minute rating, our FD30 fire doors, with a smaller number rated to 60 minutes. Like any fire door they only perform as a complete doorset, with a fire-rated frame or lining, intumescent seals and fire-rated hinges. Building control or a fire risk assessment will confirm the rating your opening needs.
