Contemporary external doors bring simple lines and modern styling to the front of a house without giving up the strength and warmth of real timber. The look is minimal and architectural: flush and lightly panelled faces, narrow vertical glazing and clean proportions that suit a new build or a sharp renovation. Because the door is real wood rather than plastic, a modern face never means a flimsy, hollow feel. Every door is supplied ready to hang and finish, so the final colour is yours to set. Modern Styles and Glazing

There is a clean, current design here for most modern homes. Sleek oak-glazed doors like the Newbury, Arta, Goodwood, Copenhagen and Empress pair a warm timber face with clear glass for a bright, architectural entrance. The Modica 4 panel and 2XGG give a flatter, more minimal face where you want less glass. Where privacy matters at the front, the frosted Harrow and Balham keep the light while hiding the view. Oak or Hardwood

Every contemporary external door here is real timber, in a choice of two woods. Our oak external doors give a warm tone and a fine, even grain that suits a clean modern face particularly well. Our hardwood external doors use a dense, dependable timber that takes the weather just as well, at a friendlier price. Real wood insulates naturally, holds an exterior finish well and lasts for years outdoors once it is sealed. So a modern look here is backed by a door built to last.

Finishing and Fitting

Our doors arrive mostly unfinished, so they need protecting before they go into service. Seal every face and edge with a good exterior wood treatment, and refresh it every year or two to keep the weather out and the finish sharp. Oak takes a clear exterior oil that lifts its grain, while hardwood can be oiled or, if you want a bold modern colour, stained or painted. Hang the door in a matching external door frame with a weathered cill, and add your own locks and contemporary hardware to finish the look.
