The Small-Opening Size for Cloakrooms and Cupboards
610mm, or 24 inches, is the narrowest of the common internal widths, the size for the smallest openings in a home. A 610mm fire door is what you fit to a cloakroom, an ensuite, a small utility or a cupboard that needs to hold back fire, giving a compact door with a tested fire-resisting core.

Where a 610mm door suits
610mm is for genuinely small openings: cloakrooms, ensuite bathrooms, understairs and utility cupboards, and tight secondary doors. Because it is a small leaf, check the opening carefully and measure allowing for the frame or lining. As with any fire door, trim only within the maker's limit rather than forcing a larger door down to size.
Styles, finishes and rating
Even at this width there is choice, with flush and glazed options and finishes to match the rest of the doors in the room. Most are fitted at a 30-minute rating, our FD30 fire doors, and a 610mm door only performs as a complete doorset with a fire-rated frame, intumescent seals and fire-rated hinges.
