Glazed External Doors, Full of Natural Light
Glazed external doors bring daylight into an entrance without giving up the warmth and security of solid timber. Our glazed oak and hardwood doors run from a single-light half-glazed door to a fully glazed one, so you can light a dark hallway, frame a view, or add character to a period home. Part of our external doors range.
Choose Your Glass
The glass is the choice that shapes the look. Clear glazing gives the most light and an open view; frosted or obscure glass keeps the daylight but adds privacy, which suits a door onto the street; and leaded designs bring period detail to a traditional home. Our doors are supplied pre-glazed with toughened safety glass, most in double-glazed sealed units, so you keep the warmth and security along with the light. Not sure how much glass you want? Our guide to fully glazed vs half glazed external doors walks through the options.
Oak or Hardwood
Choose the timber to suit your home. Our oak external doors have a warm, characterful grain, while our hardwood external doors are a hard-wearing alternative — both supplied unfinished, ready to treat in the colour you want. If you're after a fully glazed pair, see our external French doors.
Front, Back or Stable
Glazed doors work all round the home. Browse them as external front doors to light a hallway, as back doors for a kitchen or utility, or as a stable door with a glazed top for light and ventilation together.
Finish and Fit
Whatever you choose, hang it in a sound external door frame, add secure locks and handles from our external door hardware, and protect the timber with an exterior wood treatment so the whole opening lasts.
FAQs

Yes. Alongside clear glazing we offer frosted and obscure glass for privacy, and leaded designs for a period look — so you can light an entrance without being overlooked.
A half-glazed door has glass over part of its height with a solid lower section, while a fully glazed door is glazed over most of the door for maximum light. Our guide to external doors with glass explains which suits which opening.
The glass is toughened and set in sealed double-glazed units. Our doors are supplied as unfinished leaves, so fit proper multipoint locking to the finished doorset for full security.
