Glazed back doors — clear, frosted or leaded — pull daylight into rooms that often sit at the darker rear of the house, while unglazed panelled doors give a more private, secure and traditional entrance. Half-glazed and stable styles sit neatly in between, letting you open the top for ventilation while keeping pets and children safely inside.

Timber That Lasts Outside

Every back door here is made from real timber, not a printed skin. Oak external doors bring a warm, premium grain, while hardwood external doors offer the same weatherproof strength at hard-wearing value. Dowelled, solid construction resists the knocks of daily use, and — treated and maintained — a timber back door will outlast far cheaper alternatives. As with any external timber door, seal every face and edge with a quality exterior finish before use and refresh it every year or two.

Security at the Rear

Rear entrances are a common target for intruders, so security is worth getting right. A solid timber back door fitted with a quality multi-point or mortice lock and a sound frame gives real peace of mind, and the weight and strength of oak or hardwood makes forced entry far harder than with a hollow or lightweight door.
