Solid Oak 3 Ledge Glazed Rustic Bead and Butt Cottage Door

These oak internal doors are manufactured to a standard 40mm thickness, this is made up on 20mm thick vertical panels and 20mm thick horizontal ledges. They come as 1981mm in height as standard and you have the option of 4 different widths, ranging from 610mm - 838mm. If a non-standard size is needed, it isn't a problem at all, we can pretty much cater for any size you require.

Our Solid Oak 3 Ledge Glazed Rustic Bead and Butt Cottage Doors are supplied pre-sanded and unfinished to provide you with the opportunity to give it your desired look, the look that best matches the overall design of your house. If you prefer however, you can let us do the hard work for you through using our in-house oiling service and choosing the prefinished option.

These doors are manufactured with specially kiln dried rustic oak that has a low moisture content of 6-10%. The individual oak panels are finished in a Butt & Bead profile and nail holes are also visible within this door (of course, you can fill these in if you’d prefer).

The number of planks and the width of planks may vary from door to door depending on measurements.

Please note that all of our doors are initially unfinished (unless otherwise stated) allowing you to choose a finish to your liking, the doors displayed on our website vary in appearance due to the different finishes being used by ourselves and customers alike, in addition to the natural qualities of the wood this will also contribute to the door’s appearance. All hinges, handles, levers and door accessories are for illustration purposes only and sold separately. We cannot guarantee an exact match to images used across our door product imagery for the reasons stated above.

Glazing not included.

We don’t include glass in this door to give you the freedom of picking your own, such as clear, patterned or frosted. The beading is supplied loose on one side, to be cut to size and fitted once your glass is in place.

Pine is a quality softwood that offers huge benefits as an internal door such as their being lightweight, affordable and strong. The pine used in the construction of these doors is quite light in colour, meaning that unless you prefer the look of original pine, it is easy to tint, paint and oil to take on a different colour. The nature of pine means that the grain pattern is minimal within the wood, but the knots and other characteristics such as this are more prevalent than in our grades of wood, enhancing that authentic timber look. All our solid pine doors are unfinished, so you will be able to achieve a completely different finish in your door should you choose to paint your new pine door. This particular design is the classic 3 ledge cottage style, featuring a simple design of 3 horizontal planks of pine, evenly distributed on the door.

The profile of this door is bead and butt, on both the front and back of the internal pine door, meaning that between the two ledges of this cottage internal door are finger jointed, glued, pinned and hydraulically pressed, rather than the standard stapling method of fixing the ledges to the door, so they are attached in a much stronger way. The internal pine door is constructed by experts in the UK and manufactured to the highest standards, to ensure your new door is high quality and reliable. The pine used in the construction of this internal door is sourced from sustainable redwood, selected from northern Scandinavia, so we are ensuring we are sourcing our timber responsibly, making this door a more environmentally conscious choice.

Ever-popular in the UK, cottages are beautiful homes, but often lack space and this is where a pine bi-fold door could be the perfect solution. This bi fold internal door is affordable, durable and incredibly practical in a home look to gain space wherever possible. The door can behave like a concertina and fold into itself, rather than opening all the way out like a traditional door. The profile on this solid pine internal door is bead & butt, adding a little extra detail to both sides of the door. This interior bi-fold door is constructed from the highest quality Scandinavian redwood timber, boasting a wealth of natural pine features such as knots and light grain pattern, so you know youâre getting an authentic product. This product does not include the fixings necessary to join the two leafs together or to fix the door to your opening, although all the required parts can be found in our door hardware category. The pine used in the construction of our internal bi-fold door is all sustainable and taken from responsible sources, ensuring that you have selected an environmentally conscious manufacturer. What Do Victorian Fire Doors Look Like? Classic Victorian-style doors have several defining features including panelled design. Typically four or six panels, often with raised or moulded profiles. Absolutely, but only if they are properly specified and installed. Internal Doors’ fire door range is built with FD30 and FD60 fire ratings. Fire doors are much more than just thicker doors. They are purpose-built doors engineered to resist fire and smoke for a set period. Understanding what fire doors are made of, what fire door core materials are used and how they’re constructed will help you choose the right one for your home or workplace. What Materials Are Fire Doors Made From? Internal Doors offers a wide variety of fire doors by material and finish. Core materials commonly used in fire doors are: Calcium silicate core: A non-combustible, dense material used in many Internal Doors fire-rated engineered doors. It’s particularly resistant to fire damage. Engineered solid core / laminated cores: These are timber-based constructions using layers of timber and engineered wood bonded together for strength and stability under heat. Some fire doors have solid oak lippings or thick veneers over these cores. Fire-resistant composite or chipboard cores: These cores combine wood fibres or particles with fire retardants. They’re less expensive but still capable of meeting FD ratings if properly manufactured and certified. In addition to the core, other materials play a critical role: Intumescent strips/seals: Around the edges of the door frame. These expand under heat to seal gaps and stop fire/smoke spread. Fire-rated metal hardware: Hinges, locks and handles must all be certified to work under fire conditions. If you install non-rated hardware, the overall fire door performance can be compromised. Fire-rated glazing: When glazed panels are included, the glass must be fire-rated. The framing around the glass must also be compatible with the fire rating test. What Are FD30 Fire Doors Made Of? The specification “FD30” means the door is tested to resist fire (both flames and smoke) for at least 30 minutes. To achieve that: Doors typically have a minimum thickness requirement; many FD30 internal fire doors are 44 mm thick. The core is often of the types mentioned above: engineered wood, calcium silicate or a fire-resistant composite. Intumescent seals are fitted along the edges. These are essential for the integrity of the rated door under fire. All hardware (hinges, handles etc.) must also be tested for FD30 performance. If glazed, fire-rated glazing is used and sealed properly within the framing. Why Does Fire Door Material Matter? Understanding fire door materials and construction matters because: It determines how long a door will resist fire (the FD rating), which is crucial in giving people time to escape and delaying fire spread. Using the wrong core, or non-rated hardware or poorly glazed panels can invalidate the certification. Material choice also affects durability, finish, maintenance and how the door complements your interiors: e.g., oak veneer looks very different from primed or painted finishes.
